Registering a Charity and forming an incorporated charity

We can advise whether or not the objects of a proposed charity are likely to be acceptable to the Charity Commission, and whether specialist legal assistance is required.

We can assist with all the initial formalities, including organising bank accounts, data protection registration and other licences and permits, notification of charity status to local authorities (for rates relief), utility suppliers ( for VAT and climate levy relief) and so on.

We can help with the training and induction of the first trustees.

Company formation can start from as little as £100, and charity registration from as little as £300, but much will depend on the circumstances.

Company formation can take only a few days, but charity registration can be a long drawn out process, heavily dependent on the internal mechanisms of the Charity Commission
